School Holiday Camps

September 2014 School Holiday Survivor Camp (8-13 year olds) Review

The school holiday camp on 23-25 September 2014 had 47 students from a range of schools from as far south as Palm Beach Currumbin and north to Brisbane and we even had one student who flew from Sydney for the camp, which was an impressive effort.  They were a great group, with many returning for another camp, which makes it even easier to manage.  You can see the returning students’ skills developing, particularly with the fishing component.  The experienced students bait their live shrimp with ease and remove the fish from the hook just as easily...it’s good to see!  The students also enjoyed rock climbing, canoeing, raft building, archery and open fire cooking.  Congratulations to Georgia and Digby who tied for the Ultimate Survivor title.  Special thank you to L. Wilson & Co, Berkley and Spin & Turn Spinnerbaits for donating all the prizes for the camp.

Dear Steve

My son Charlie has just returned from the September Lake Maroon Camp. I just wanted to let you know he had an absolute ball. He loved every aspect of the camp and cannot wait till the next one.
Many Thanks, Monique Cross

Thanks for the photos, Steve.  Bella had an awesome time and was just retelling stories over dinner again tonight.  Thank you for your organisation of such a wonderful opportunity for the children.  She will be a willing participant at future camps.
