St Margaret's Years 5-7 Father & Daughter Adventure Weekend October 2012 Review

On 12-14 October it was St Margaret’s Father & Daughter Fishing and Adventure Weekend.  This was the school’s second consecutive year at Camp Lake Fire.  The school opts to make it a two night event, with the girls able to leave school at lunch time on the Friday to get up to the campsite and set up their tents.  The program was fishing and adventure, so the adventure started with the girls setting up their tents.  The dads had the comfort of the cabin accommodation, but with the amount of laughter and squealing coming from the tents, I think the girls enjoyed camping out.  The adventure components were abseiling, milk crate climb, archery and canoeing, with the other half of the time spent fishing from the Quintrex boats.  The group all employed catch & release tactics and enjoyed a bbq dinner on the Saturday night.  There were some very impressive fish caught.  St Margaret’s is always a great group, and this occasion was no different.  It was a very enjoyable weekend.  Special thanks to Graeme Martin who was the parent coordinator.
