Upcoming & Past Weekends

Churchie Years 1-3 Father & Son Fishing Weekend May 2015 Review

Sports Tuition hosted the Churchie Years 1-3 Father & Son Fishing Weekend at Camp Lake Fire on 15-17 May.  The group was blessed with perfect fishing conditions. There was plenty of heat in the days and there was virtually no wind, making it very pleasant just being out there on the water. The air temperature really dropped once the sun went down, but I don’t think the boys minded one bit. Their camp fire was massive. If a camp fire was the only activity all weekend, I think the boys would have been pretty happy. However, it wasn’t, and the fishing presented some memories that will stay with everyone for a very long time. A range of species were landed during the course of the weekend which included; Australian bass, golden perch (commonly known as yellowbelly), eel-tailed catfish and spangled perch.

It was decided to keep enough fish for dinner. The boys were involved in the dinner preparation by bread crumbing the fish fillets. It’s hard to beat fresh fish & chips for dinner, particularly if you’ve helped prepare it.
