Upcoming & Past Weekends

BBC Year 5 & 6 Father & Son Fishing Weekend October 2015 Review

It’s always a pleasure to host the boys from BBC. On this occasion it was a Father & Son weekend for the Year 5 & 6 boys which was held on 30 October – 1 November. The group arrived Friday night for some pizza making and marshmallow toasting around the fire. The fishing commenced first thing Saturday morning. The group focused on the timber region in the very far upper reaches, but due to the recent rain, the bite in this region wasn’t as good as it has been. The group then moved to the timber across from Camp Lake Fire where the fish were more cooperative. During the weekend some nice fish were landed, and nobody missed out, which is always pleasing. Back at the campsite it was a team effort preparing the meal. All the dads were given a quick fish filleting lesson and it was all hands on the filleting knives after that. The boys had to help too...they had the responsibility of bread crumbing all the fillets. It always tastes better when everyone contributes.
