Bluefin Lake Maroon Fishing Classic 2015 Review

The 2015 Bluefin Lake Maroon Fishing Classic was held on 13-15 November, and records tumbled. A group of 373 which comprised of 297 seniors and 76 juniors took part. Steve Raabe led the way for the Senior division with a cracking 57cm Australian bass. Together with a few other species, the massive bass helped Steve take out the Overall Senior Champion award. The Junior category was dominated by Sam Ryan who was lucky enough to catch a 45.5cm silver perch, 43cm yellowbelly, 48.5cm catfish, 38.1cm bass and a 20.8cm spangled. Hence, the junior record for Overall Champion Angler was smashed.

As usual the event was a social occasion and rock band Between Kings were awesome in the new shed…almost lifting the roof! It was hard to talk, but great entertainment.

Special thank you to all sponsor contributors for the kids sample bags. All junior entrants received a sample bag containing: Zerek plastics, mustad size 4 bigmouth hooks and a sticker courtesy of L. Wilson & Co, Pkt Berkley Soft Plastics, Bush n Beach Fishing Magazine & sticker, Queensland Fishing Monthly Magazine & sticker and a $30 Sports Tuition School Holiday Camp voucher.

All senior entrants received a Bush n Beach Fishing Magazine and Queensland Fishing Monthly magazine.
